We all have relatives somewhere in the family tree who merit a comment or two in the family photo album. This flight into whimsy was motivated by finding so many once-cherished family photographs sold in antique malls and flea markets.
After looking at these portraits propped up on my desk for awhile I began to speculate what these people might have been like. Their foibles and indiosycracies, much like oddities we see in our own relatives. it's great fun doing this series. I'd like to think these forgotten folks would appreciate the exposure and maybe have a smile or two as a result.
